On February 12, 1982, the Directorate of Horticulture and Farm Forestry was established under the Department of Agriculture, Government of Madhya Pradesh to increase the production of horticultural crops in the state and to provide a balanced diet. In order to make the state forerunner in the field of horticulture and to promote agro-based industries in the state.
