Right to Information Act 2005 mandates timely response to citizen requests for government information. It is an initiative taken by Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions to provide a RTI Portal Gateway to the citizens for quick search of information on the details of first Appellate Authorities,PIOs etc. amongst others, besides access to RTI related information / disclosures published on the web by various Public Authorities under the government of India as well as the State Governments.

If the PIO has not:

* Replied to your application

* Has provided wrong/incomplete/confusing information

* Has used Section 8 to refuse the provision of information and you are not satisfied with that.

In the above mentioned situation, an appeal will have to be filed with the first appellate authority (an officer senior to the PIO appointed under the provisions of the Act) after 30 days from the date of submission of application but within 60 days of such submission.

If you are not satisfied with the action taken on your first appeal then a second appeal will have to be filed with Central/State Information Commission.
